From the Limerick-Galway road, the N18, turn for Kinvara at Kilcolgan. Drive straight through Kinvara village following for the Burren and Ballyvaughan. After about 1 mile from the village there is right turn signposted for Traught Beach and the Youth Hostel. Take this turn and follow to the Traveller’s Inn pub, and keep on this road as it veers right at the pub and keep right at the fork. This road then passes over a causeway, and after an ‘S’ bend there is a right turn signposted for the Youth Hostel, take this and the Youth Hostel driveway is the next right. In all it’s about 5 miles from Kinvara village. Park at the rear and the gate to the garden is clearly visible from the carpark. The Garden is open to the public all year round and entry is free, and there is a picnic area.
Kinvara is a sea-side village on the edge of the Burren in South County Galway. It is famed for its traditional music scene and has 10 pubs!, one of which is walking distance from Doorus House Hostel. The May Bank

Doorus House Youth Hostel where our weekend courses are held, is on a peninsula with the blue flag Tracht beach 5 minutes walk one way and Parkmore Pier 15 minutes walk the other way. It is the ideal location for some fresh air, beautiful scenery, hill walks, sailing, traditional music and of course gardening. What better spot to learn a new skill and have a great weekend, in such inspiring surroundings, among fellow aspiring gardeners? Accommodation is available in the hostel if required.
Breacan Cottage B&B is situated at Parkmore Pier, 15 minutes walk, and has double rooms on suite with views of Kinvara Bay.
